Jimi Hendrix Tribute Strat #2
This is the second Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster I've carved. George liked the first one so so much, he wouldn't be swayed to go with another design. I made some changes so it wouldn't look like a "copy". The flowers are a little different, Jimi's name is in the wood rather than the pick guard. The pick guard has a totally different cameo treatment design and includes the album's stylized font "Are You Experienced".
As with the first one, I had trouble capturing the Voodoo Child's face. After the 3rd attempt (requesting spiritual guidance) I finally God it right. Fender 60th Anniversary Stratocaster Special with ash body, Golden Oak Stain, Nitro Lacquer finish, completed 8/27/2014 .
