Pacie wanted a guitar carved but didn't know which one. He owned several. Of the models he offered, I liked the idea of this Ibanez. The XPT Xiphos has an unusual shape, reminiscent of the Gibson Explorer. He told me some of my previous designs he liked and I tried to come up with a combination of dragon and nouveau ribbon work. I think this blend worked out nicely.
Pacie suggested, for a finish, something Ibanez offers as "Trans Black". Just perfect for this body style and design. Many layers of airbrushed clear lacquer lightly tinted with black lacquer, 4 layers of Nitro Cellulose Lacquer finish, completed 10/20/08 .
